Spectrum Threshold
Spectrum Threshold (2026) explores a transitional state in which light loses its stability and color emerges as an active force.
Inspired by aurora-like formations yet moving beyond direct representation, the painting captures a threshold where energy shifts, expands, and gradually dissolves its own boundaries. Rather than depicting a specific landscape or phenomenon, the work investigates the moment when perception becomes fluid and transformation becomes visible.
The composition creates a dynamic dialogue between darkness and illumination. Layers of color unfold across the surface, generating a sense of movement that is both spatial and emotional. Light is not presented as an object to be observed, but as a presence that can be experienced.
Rooted in Şennur Üzgen’s Surrexpressionism approach, the work reflects the inner movement of energy expressed through color. Uncontrolled yet balanced, immersive yet elusive, the painting invites viewers into a space where boundaries soften and perception remains in constant transition.
Spectrum Threshold reveals color not as description, but as an evolving field of awareness, intensity, and becoming.
